The Master’s College Men’s Cross Country Team Ranked No. 9 In NAIA Poll

The Master’s College men’s cross country team is ranked No. 9 in the NAIA preseason top 25.

The Mustangs share the No. 9 spot with Cal State San Marcos. The Master’s College is one of three teams from the Golden State Athletic Conference ranked in the NAIA top 25.

Arizona Christian is No. 16 and Vanguard in No. 21.

St. Francis from Illinois is the No. 1 team in the NAIA preseason top 25.

The Master’s College opens in the UC Irvine Invitational on Sept. 7.

The Master’s College women’s cross country team is ranked No. 10 in the NAIA preseason top 25.

Saugus High graduate Karis Frankian and Hannah Kellerman earned NAIA All-American honors last year and will return to The Master’s College women’s cross country team.

The Lady Mustangs open their season at the UC Irvine Invitational on Sept. 7.

In baseball, the Dodgers shut out the visiting Chicago Cubs, 4-0. Dodgers starter Ricky Nolasco pitched eight scoreless innings and won his 11th game of the season.

Hanley Ramirez hit his 15th home run, a solo shot in the first inning, and Andre Ethier hit a solo home run in the fourth inning.

The Dodgers have the day off today. They start a weekend series against the Padres on Friday at Dodger Stadium.

Connie and her husband, John, moved to the Santa Clarita Valley almost 30 years ago. Living in Santa Clarita for that long is the direct opposite of Connie’s childhood.
