The Master’s College Men’s Soccer Team Advances In Conference Tournmament

sportslocalThe Master’s College men’s soccer team shut out Cal Baptist, 1-0, to win its first game of the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament.

Joel Peluffo scored the only goal of the game in the third minute. Goalkeeper Kevin Lawson recorded his 10th shutout of the season.

 

The Master’s College, ranked No. 7 in the NAIA, advances to the semifinals of the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament. The team will face Westmont, 1-0, overtime winners over Concordia in their first-round game.

It will be a busy day of playoffs for high school teams in the Santa Clarita Valley today.

The Foothill League boys and girls cross country finals are today at Central Park. The races begin at 2.

The girls tennis Foothill League preliminaries are at The Paseo Club. They begin at 11 this morning.

The girls golf CIF Southern Section Northern Divisional begins at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande. The Hart, Saugus and Valencia teams qualified for the Northern Divisional, which begins at 10.

It’s not playoff time yet in girls volleyball, but it is still a busy day for the Foothill League teams. Golden Valley is at Valencia; Hart is at West Ranch and Canyon is at Saugus.
