The Master’s College Men’s Soccer Team Wins Conference Tournament, Heads To NAIA Tournament

sportslocalThe Master’s College men’s soccer team won the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament and earned the No. 15 seed in the NAIA men’s soccer tournament.

The Master’s College will host Holy Names on Saturday in the first round of the national championship tournament.

Jacob Marchesani, Joel Peluffo and Marlon Lindo each scored in The Master’s College’s 3-1 win over Biola in the Golden State Athletic Conference championship game.

 

By winning the conference tournament, The Master’s College earned an automatic berth in the NAIA tournament.

Lindsey Wilson College of Kentucky is the No. 1 seed in the NAIA tournament.

In high school golf, the Hart girls team finished fifth in the CIF-WSCGA Foundation Southern California Girls Golf Championship at the SCGA course in Murrieta.

The top three teams in the WSCGA tournament advanced to the CIF state final at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach. The Hart girls were 23 shots off the lead. Torrance High won with a team score of 379. Hart shot 402.

In high school cross country, the Saugus girls team, led by junior Kaylin Mahoney, won its race in the CIF-Southern Section prelims at Mt. San Antonio College over the weekend and advanced to the section finals.

Mahoney won the girls Division II race, followed by teammate Danielle Hernando in second. Saugus had four of the top-seven finishers in the girls race.

The Golden Valley boys team, led by Seth Totten, won the Division III race. Totten finished second in the race and four runners from Golden Valley were in the top 12.
