The Master’s College Women’s Basketball Team Bounces Back Against La Sierra

The Master’s College women’s basketball team is back to its winning ways.

The Lady Mustangs, ranked No. 8 in the NAIA, beat La Sierra, 84-47. The Master’s College women won their first 17 games before losing to Westmont on Tuesday night.

Jacquelyn Marshall scored 15 points to lead The Master’s College against La Sierra. Four Lady Mustangs scored in double figures.

In high school basketball, the Santa Clarita Christian boys lost to Valley Torah, 41-39, in a Heritage League game.

It’s a full night of basketball in the Foothill League starting with the West Ranch boys vs. Hart. West Ranch is 5-0 in the Foothill League. Hart’s only loss of the season came against West Ranch in the Foothill League opener.

The Valencia boys are on the road against Saugus. The Vikings are tied for second place in league with Hart. Saugus has won two games in a row.

The Golden Valley boys are looking for their first Foothill League win of the season against Canyon.

The Valencia girls basketball team is undefeated in the Foothill League at 5-0 and travel to play Saugus.

Hart plays at West Ranch. The Golden Valley girls are on the road against Canyon.

In the NBA, the Clippers lost to the Phoenix Suns, 93-88. The Clippers have lost three games in a row and All-Star guard Chris Paul did not play again because of a bruised knee cap. He has missed five of the past seven games.

In the NHL, the Kings lost to the Edmonton Oilers, 2-1 in overtime. Jeff Carter gave the Kings a 1-0 lead with a goal in the second period.

The Oilers tied the score with 4.7 seconds left in regulation. Sam Gagner scored the game-winning goal in overtime.

The Kings have lost their first three games of the season. They will be in Phoenix for a game against the Coyotes on Saturday.
