The Master’s College Women’s Volleyball Team Ranked No. 9 In NAIA

The Master’s College women’s volleyball team is ranked No. 9 in the NAIA preseason top 25.

The Lady Mustangs are one of four teams from the Golden State Athletic Conference ranked in the NAIA top 25.

Concordia is ranked No. 1. Biola is No. 4 and Westmont is No. 16.

The Master’s College women’s volleyball team begins play in the Anaheim Summer Slam on Thursday. The Lady Mustangs play Lewis and Clark State in the morning and face Davenport from Michigan in the afternoon.

In auto racing, Shelby Oatley of Valencia won her first race at Willow Springs International Raceway. She won the Around the Flagpole race, a modified figure 8 event. She was also fifth in the Bombers race.

In baseball, the Dodgers ended their little two-game losing streak with a 6-4 win over the Miami Marlins.

Yasiel Puig, who was benched and fined for being late to the stadium in Miami before the game, broke a 4-4 tie with a solo home run in the eighth inning.

The Dodgers are 26-5 since the All Star break and 20-3 in the past 23 games on the road.

The Dodgers wrap up their series against the Marlins tonight in Miami. Listen to the game on AM 1220, KHTS. First pitch is at 4:10.

About Connie Jones

Connie and her husband, John, moved to the Santa Clarita Valley almost 30 years ago. Living in Santa Clarita for that long is the direct opposite of Connie’s childhood.
