The Master’s College’s Men’s Golf Team Leads NAIA Regional Championship

The Master’s College men’s golf team is tied for first place after the first two rounds of the NAIA Regional Championship at Diamond Woods Golf Course in Oregon.

The Mustangs, ranked No. 11 in the NAIA, share the lead with Warner Pacific.

Thane Ringler from The Master’s College is tied for fifth place at 9-over after two rounds.

All five players for The Master’s College are in the top 20 of the tournament.

In high school golf, the West Ranch boys beat Santa Barbara by 15 strokes in a match at Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai. The Wildcats shot 382 as a team. Casey May shot the low round for West Ranch at 3-over 75.

In high school tennis, the Valencia boys are ranked in the CIF Southern Section Division 2 poll. The Vikings are No. 7 after posting an undefeated 6-0 record in the Foothill League.

San Marino is the No. 1 team in the Southern Section Division 2 boys tennis poll.

In high school football, Dakota Prochnow, pictured at right, from Trinity Classical Academy will continue his football career in college at Benedictine in Kansas.

Prochnow led Trinity to the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Division II 8-man football playoffs in his senior season.

At quarterback, he was the Heritage League leader with 1,427 passing yards. At safety, he led the Heritage League with nine interceptions.

In high school ice hockey, Saugus beat Bakersfield, 7-2, in the Valencia Ice Station league. Austin Ehrlich scored five goals for the Centurions who evened their record at 3-3.

The Valencia ice hockey team beat Antelope Valley, 7-5. Luc Whyte and Owen Sikich each scored four points for the Vikings, which handed Antelope Valley its first loss of the season.

The Hart ice hockey team beat Canyon, 13-3.

The Burbank ice hockey team beat West Valley, 9-3.

In baseball, the Dodgers lost to the visiting San Diego Padres, 6-3. The Padres scored two runs in the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie.

Carl Crawford had another big night at the plate for the Dodgers. He was 3-for-5, scored a run and drove in a run. He is hitting .563.

Game 2 of the series against the Padres is tonight at Dodger Stadium. Chris Capuano gets the start for the Dodgers against Jason Marquis for the Padres. First pitch is at 7:10.

In the NHL, the Kings are in San Jose for a game against the Sharks tonight. The Kings are coming off a 2-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night.
