Trinity Boys Basketball Team 4-0 In Omega League

khts_sportsThe Trinity Classical Academy boys basketball team beat Westmark, 50-36, for its fourth win in a row. Trinity is undefeated at 4-0 against Omega League opponents.

James Brooks scored a team-high 23 points and had 12 rebounds.

Teammate Jordan Mumper had 17 points, 10 in the fourth quarter.

The Canyon boys basketball team lost to Notre Dame, 66-50. Coley Apsay scored 15 points.

The Canyon girls basketball team beat Oak Park, 70-38. Alia McCoy scored 18 points and Sara Ward had 13 for Canyon.

The Canyon and Valencia girls basketball teams begin play in the Burroughs Varsity Tournament today.

Meanwhile, the Saugus boys basketball team begins play in the San Fernando Valley Invitational against Servite. The West Ranch boys start the San Fernando Invitational against Orange Lutheran.

The Hart boys basketball team is on the road against Highland.

The Santa Clarita Christian boys soccer team beat North Roads, 3-1, behind a hat trick from Daniel Stratton.

The game was filled with penalties. The two teams combined for 16 total. New Roads was issued three yellow cards and a red card in the second half.

Chad Latch assisted on two of Stratton’s goals. The first tied the game at 1-1 in the first half. Stratton gave his team a 2-1 lead with his second goal just before halftime.

Kobe Bryant is leading the NBA All-Star voting after the first round of returns was released. The NBA All Star game will be in Los Angeles in February.

Lakers forward Pau Gasol is second in the All-Star voting behind Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Andrew Bynum, who has played two games this season, is second among centers in the All-Star voting behind Yao Ming of the Houston Rockets.

The Kings lost to the St. Louis Blues, 6-4. The game was tied, 4-4, after two periods, but the Blues scored two goals in the third period to win the game.

Alex Steen scored the eventual game-winner for the Blues with a little under three minutes to play in the game.

Anze Kopitar had a goal and an assists for the Kings. Jack Johnson had two assists.

The Kings continue their road trip against the Nashville Predators on Saturday night.
