Trinity Classical Academy Football Piles Up All-CIF Awards

The Trinity Classical Academy raked in the postseason accolades on the All-CIF Southern Section Division 2 8-man football team.

Spencer Klehn was selected as the Division 2 player of the year. Teammate Patch Kulp earned the defensive MVP award.

Eli Skorich and Nick Spinello were selected to the All-CIF offensive team. Ryan Brooks was selected to the All-CIF defensive team.

Trinity’s Mike Buchanan was selected as the Division 2 8-man football coach of the year.

The Trinity football team won the Southern Section Division 2 8-man championship for the first time in school history.

Santa Clarita High School Sports

In high school volleyball, Kylie Brown, a sophomore at Santa Clarita Christian, was selected to the All-CIF Southern Section Division 5A first team.

She was the only player from the Santa Clarita Valley selected to an All-CIF girls volleyball team.

In high school basketball, the Trinity Classical Academy boys are ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Division 6 preseason poll.

The Canyon boys are ranked No. 8 in the Division 2AA preseason poll.

The Hart boys are ranked No. 4 in the Division 2A preseason poll.

The Santa Clarita Christian boys are ranked No. 7 in the Division 5A preseason poll.

On the girls side, Valencia is ranked No. 16 in the Division 1AA preseason poll.

The Canyon girls are tied for fourth in the Division 1A preseason poll.

In high school soccer, the Valencia girls are ranked No. 9 in the Division 2 poll.

The Santa Clarita Christian girls are ranked No. 6 in the Division 7 poll.

Los Angeles Sports Report

In the NBA, the Lakers lost to the Atlanta Hawks, 114-100. The Lakers are in Minnesota for a game against the Timberwolves tonight.

The Clippers beat the San Antonio Spurs, 115-92, in their first game at Staples Center after a seven-game road trip.

The Clippers play the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night.

In the NHL, the Kings are home for a game against the Edmonton Oilers tonight.

The Kings have won six of their past seven games, but they are coming off a 3-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.
