Trinity Football Team Shuts Out Concordia, 52-0

khts_sportsThe Trinity Classical Academy football team shut out Concordia, 52-0, to stay undefeated and run its record to 7-0.

Dakota Prochnow scored three touchdowns and threw two touchdown passes for Trinity. He rushed for a touchdown, returned a punt for a touchdown and returned an interception for a touchdown.

All six football teams from the Foothill League are in action tonight. Valencia, the two-time reigning Football League champion, is home against undefeated Canyon.

Valencia won its league opener, 31-14, over West Ranch last week. Canyon clobbered Saugus, 51-28, in its league opener.

The Hart football team also won its league opener, 28-3, over Golden Valley last week. The Indians play Saugus at College of the Canyons tonight.

West Ranch plays Golden Valley at Canyon High School. Both teams are in search of their first league win. West Ranch narrowly beat Golden Valley last year, 21-17.

In college football, the UCLA Bruins lost to Arizona, 48-12, in a game that included a fight just before halftime. Juron Criner scored three touchdowns for Arizona.

UCLA dropped to 3-4 on the season.

In the World Series, the Texas Rangers scored two runs in the ninth inning to beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 2-1, in Game 2.

The Rangers scored on a pair of sacrifice flies in the top of the ninth inning. Michael Young and Josh Hamilton knocked in the Rangers runs.

The Series is tied at a game apiece. Game 3 is in Texas on Saturday night.

In the NHL, the Kings shut out the Phoenix Coyotes, 2-0, and goaltender Jonathan Quick won the 100th game of his career.

Quick made 28 saves for his second straight shutout. Kyle Clifford scored his first goal of the season and Dustin Brown gave the Kings a 1-0 lead in the second period.
