Undefeated Valencia Takes On Winless Golden Valley In High School Football

sportslocalIt’s the undefeated versus the winless in high school football tonight.

Valencia, the second-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Northern Division poll, hosts winless Golden Valley.

Valencia is coming off a 49-7 blowout against Canyon. Golden Valley is coming off a 49-7 loss to West Ranch.

 

On the bright side, Golden Valley did score its first touchdown in four games.

Valencia, on the other hand, is averaging more than seven touchdowns a game and beating its opponents by an average score of 46-18.

Hart plays Canyon at Canyon High School. Hart is coming off a 31-21 win over Saugus and has posted two wins in a row. Canyon is still looking for its first win of the year.

Over at College of the Canyons, West Ranch, the surprise of the Foothill League this season, plays Saugus, the biggest disappointment in league this season. West Ranch has won five of its last six games and is looking more and more like a playoff team every week.

Saugus, the reigning Foothill League champs, has lost five games in a row and hasn’t won since the opening week of the season. Listen live to the Saugus-West Ranch game tonight at 7:30 on AM 1220, KHTS.

In high school volleyball, the Valencia girls knocked West Ranch out of first place in the Foothill League. Valencia’s Katie Hank had 25 kills in her team’s four-game win over West Ranch.

Hart kept pace with Valencia with a three-game sweep over Canyon. Brittani Elser had a team-high eight kills for Hart, tied for first place in league with Valencia at 5-1.

Saugus swept Golden Valley in three games. Sarah Blomgren had a team-high 16 kills for Saugus.
