Valencia Baseball Off To 3-0 Start In Foothill League – Santa Clarita Sports Report – March 27, 2018

Santa Clarita High School Baseball

Valencia: 13

Golden Valley: 2

The Vikings have picked up right where they left off last season, winning their 11th consecutive league game dating back to the 2017 season.

Luke Chung and Mitchell Torres each had three hits, and junior Cade Erickson earned the win in five and two-thirds of work (one earned run).

Valencia (3-0) hosts West Ranch (2-1) today in a battle for positioning at the top of the league, and Golden Valley (0-4) visits the Wildcats on Wednesday.

First pitch for West Ranch/Valencia is at 3:30 p.m.

Santa Clarita High School Softball

Tuesday’s schedule:

Valencia (8-4) vs 5 Agoura at 3:30

Heritage Christian vs 3 Golden Valley (7-1) at 4:30

Santa Clarita High School Volleyball

Valencia (11-6) is racking up tournament wins in the Easter Invitational, already 6-0 without dropping a set and three more matches to play. They will play Mesa (Arizona) this afternoon.

In Foothill League play, Hart (5-7-1, 0-2) visits Canyon (9-9, 0-1) with both teams looking for a first league win of the season, while Golden Valley (3-5, 0-1) takes on Saugus (8-8, 2-0).

College of the Canyons

Baseball: The Cougars (15-9) open tournament play today in the Hancock Spring Classic against Merced. COC is on a current four game winning streak and 6-2 in the Western State Conference.

Softball: The Cougars perfect start to the conference play is on the line against Glendale at home. COC is 12-8 overall but 6-0 in the WSC and battered those opponents for 58 runs.
