And then there was one.  The second round of the CIF Southern Section Division IIAA Boy’s Basketball playoffs knocked out two more Santa Clarita teams.  Foothill League Champion Valencia was the only winner, defeating Fullerton 51-48 on a John Otavka 3-pointer with three-seconds left in the game.  The Vikings will take on Arroyo Valley on Friday night.  Saugus fell to Bishop Montgomery, 70-58.  West Ranch hosted their first ever playoff game, but after a 12-4 opening run by the Wildcats, top-seed Eisenhower put on the brakes and pulled away to win 60-40.

Congratulations to Saugus High forward Mitch Weber, this week’s Lockheed Player of the Week.

Weber led the Centurions with 16 points in a 72-53 victory over Burroughs in the opening round of the CIF Southern Section Boy’s Basketball Playoffs.

For his production, Lockheed Federal Credit Union will donate $250.00 to the Saugus High athletics program.

Congratulations from everyone at Lockheed Federal Credit Union and your Hometown Station, AM-1220, KHTS.

Girl’s playoffs enter the second round today.  The Hart Indians basketball team travels to J.W. North.  In soccer action, Hart hosts Quartz Hill with Saugus traveling to Laguna Hills.
