The Valencia High football team was the only team in the Santa Clarita Valley to come away with a victory this weekend.
Valencia improved to 5-0 with a 35-14 win over Loyola on Saturday night. Quarterback Alex Bishop threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Steven Manfro tossed a touchdown pass and rushed for another.
The West Ranch football team had its three-game winning streak snapped with a 47-7 loss to Los Osos. West Ranch scored late in the fourth quarter to avoid being shut out. Tight end James McGough caught a 13-yard touchdown pass with 34 seconds left in the game.
Canyon gave up three second quarter touchdowns and lost, 34-12, to Buena. Saugus couldn’t get on the scoreboard in a 50-0 blowout against Crespi. Golden Valley was shut out for the third game in a row, 56-0, to Paraclete.

Not even Santa Clarita Christian could muster much of an attack against visiting Windward. Playing without star running back Collin Keoshian, Santa Clarita Christian lost 48-0 in a game that ended in the third quarter because of a mercy rule.
The College of the Canyons football team rallied in the fourth quarter and beat Moorpark, 31-17. COC scored three touchdowns in the final quarter to erase a seven-point deficit.
In auto racing, M.K. Kanke of Frazier Park won the Stockcar Racing League Southwest Tour Series race at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale on Saturday night. It was his fourth win of the season.
