The Valencia football team opens on the road against an upstart Sherman Oaks Notre Dame team tonight.
Notre Dame won its season opener last weekend, 35-13, over Gardena Serra.
Valencia is the reigning Foothill League champion and reached the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Northern Division playoffs last season.
In other games, the Hart football team will be looking to rebound after an opening night loss last week to Tesoro. Hart plays Palmdale at College of the Canyons tonight at 7:30. Listen to the game on AM 1220, KHTS.

The Canyon football team is home against Burroughs of Burbank. Burroughs lost to Saugus, 31-20, last week.
The Golden Valley football team is at Royal in Simi Valley tonight.
The West Ranch football team plays Burbank at Valencia High School.
The Saugus football team has a tough road game against Muir in Pasadena.
Santa Clarita Christian, playing its first game in 11-man football, opens on the road against Lucerne Valley.
The Trinity Classical Academy football team beat Calvary Baptist, 54-20, in its season opener at Valencia High School. Trinity’s Dakota Prochnow rushed for 102 yards and scored two touchdowns. He also had two interceptions on defense.
In high school volleyball, the West Ranch girls lost their season opener in three games to Buena.
In high school golf, the West Ranch girls beat Saugus by 67 strokes, 192-241, at El Cariso Golf Course in Sylmar. It was the third win in a row for West Ranch. Julie Ward shot a 2-over par 33 to pace the Wildcats.
The Valencia girls lost to Oaks Christian by 16 strokes, 224-240, at Camarillo Springs.
