MaxPreps has the Valencia High football team ranked 25th in the state in its preseason poll released on Thursday.
The Valencia High football team was the highest ranked team from the Foothill League in the poll. No other team from the Foothill League cracked the top 100. MaxPreps ranked 1,056 high school football teams in the state.
Oaks Christian of Westlake Village is the No. 1 team in the state according to the MaxPreps poll.
Valencia will play two teams ranked in the top 50 by MaxPreps. The Vikings will take on No. 46 Palmdale and No. 43 Loyola before Foothill League play starts.
Saugus came in at No. 108 and the second team from the Foothill League in the poll. Next was Hart, followed by Canyon, West Ranch and Golden Valley.
