Valencia Girls Soccer Team Shuts Out Hart

sportslocalThe Valencia girls soccer team shut out Hart, 1-0, behind a goal from Kristin Bos. Next up for Valencia is Canyon in a game for second place in the Foothill League standings.

The Saugus girls soccer team got a hat trick from Jamie Molacek in a 4-0 win over West Ranch. Saugus is in first place in the Foothill League standings. Brittanie Sakajian had a goal and two assists in her team’s win.

 

The Canyon girls soccer team shut out Golden Valley, 3-0. Beth Barker, Malaya Cabrera and Martina Gonzalez scored goals for Canyon.

On the boys side, the Canyon soccer team shut out Golden Valley, 3-0. Mohammed Roknipour scored two goals and Carlos Barragan knocked in a header off a corner kick for Canyon.

The Saugus boys beat West Ranch 2-1. James Busch scored the game-winning goal for Saugus.

The Valencia boys beat Hart, 4-1, behind two goals from Javier Elias.

In high school basketball, Golden Valley beat Canyon, 80-78, and took over sole possession of first place in the Foothill League. Trevor Wiseman scored 12 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter to lead Golden Valley.

The Valencia boys beat Hart, 65-51. Valencia’s Lonnie Jackson scored a team-high 19 points for Valencia. Saugus beat West Ranch, 51-44.

The West Ranch girls got 12 points from Kaylyn Tarver in a 46-31 win over Saugus. West Ranch, Canyon and Valencia are tied for first place in the Foothill League with 5-1 records. Valencia survived a pesky Hart team, 50-47.

The Lakers squeaked past the Boston Celtics, 90-89, as Kobe Bryant scored the game-winning basket with 7.3 seconds left on the clock. Bryant scored 19 points and Andrew Bynum had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Lakers, winners of four games in a row. The Lakers are in Memphis tonight for a game against the Grizzlies.

The Clippers were blown out by the Cleveland Cavaliers, 114-89. The Cavaliers scored 46 points in the first quarter and LeBron James scored 32 and had 11 assists in the game. Baron Davis poured in 30 points for the Clippers in the loss.

The Kings won its sixth game in a row, beating the New Jersey Devils, 3-2. Wayne Simmonds and Drew Doughty scored in the third period to rally the Kings past the Devils.
