Valencia Girls Soccer Team Wins First Game Of Season

sportslocalThe Valencia girls soccer team won its first game of the season, 4-0, over Alemany in the Westlake Showcase. Nicolette Smith scored two goals. Kristen Bos and Emily Tuffey each added a goal for Valencia.

Tuffey and Bos each had an assist, as did Samantha Asarch and Hannah Hicks in the win for Valencia (1-0-1).

 

In high school basketball, the Canyon boys team got 17 points from Wesley Bartole in a 59-48 win over Knight in the Canyon Classic. Brian Nnaoji recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Canyon (4-2) will play Muir next in the tournament.

It will be a busy night of basketball in the Santa Clarita Valley. The Valencia and Golden Valley girls are playing in the Calabasas Tourney. The Saugus girls are on the road against Beverly Hills and Santa Clarita Christian travels to play West Valley Christian.

The West Ranch and Valencia boys are playing in the Canyon Classic at Canyon High School. West Ranch takes on Highland, while Valencia goes up against Grant.

The Hart boys are in the Moorpark Tourney and Santa Clarita Christian plays Valley Torah.

In college basketball, the College of the Canyons women’s team will face Taft College and The Master’s College men’s team is on the road against Cal State Dominguez Hills tonight.
