Valencia, Hart At Home In First Round Of CIF Football Playoffs

sportslocalThe undefeated Valencia football team takes on Thousands Oaks from the Marmonte League in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Northern Division playoffs tonight at Valencia High School.

Valencia is the top seeded team in the playoffs. Thousand Oaks finished in fourth place in the deep Marmonte League.

 

Hart hosts Hueneme in the first round at College of the Canyons. Hart, winners of five of its last six games, finished in second place in the Foothill League.

Hueneme, the second place team out of the Pacific View League. Hueneme has won three of its last four games and beat West Ranch, 10-8, in the first week of the football season.

Canyon won its last two league games and sneaked into the playoffs on a coin flip. The team will be on the road to play 9-1 Moorpark. Moorpark finished in second place in the Marmonte League, losing to Westlake, 38-14, in the final game of the regular season.

Santa Clarita Christian takes on Hesperia Christian in the second round of the CIF Southern Section 8-man Division I playoffs at Canyon High School. Santa Clarita Christian is the reigning 8-man Division I champions.
