Local Sports Update on your Hometown Station!

Saugus’s Nick Delio and Hart’s Johnny MacArthur will each play in next week’s Southern California Golf Association Championship after qualifying rounds in Wednesday’s CIF Southern Section Boys Golf Infividual Championship.  Delio, the Foothill League Champion, fired a 1-under 71 at the PGA of Southern California Champions Course in Beaumont.  MacArthur, the league runner-up, shot a 1-over 73 to make the cut.  Hart’s Brian Sunker missed the cut by a stroke with a 2-over 74, with Hart’s Lucas Allensworth shooting a 77 and Valencia’s Max Homa carding an 81.

The Valencia Vikings boys volleyball season is over.  The Vikings got to last night’s semi-final with Santa Barbara, but the Dons eliminated the defending D2 champions with a four-game match win in Santa Barbara.

So the last two teams that remain in the post-season are the girls softball teams from Valencia and Hart.  And once again both teams will be at home, with Valencia hosting Marina and Hart facing Camarillo.  Both games begin at 3:15 and I’ll be giving you live updates throughout the afternoon here on KHTS.
