Valencia High Graduate Finished 29th In Kraft Nabisco Golf Championship

Valencia High graduate Alison Lee finished in a tie for 29th place in the Kraft Nabisco Championship at Mission Hills Country Club.

She shot a 1-under 71 on the final day of the first LPGA major of the season. Lee was 2-over par for the four-round major.

Lexi Thompson won the Kraft Nabisco Championship with a 14-under par.

Lee, who is still an amateur and a freshman at UCLA, was making her fifth appearance in an LPGA major. She has played in three US Women’s Opens and two Kraft Nabisco Championships.

In college softball, the College of the Canyons beat Santa Ana College, 8-5, in the second game of a doubleheader. COC lost to Ventura College, 3-0, in their first game.

In the game against Santa Ana College, ranked No. 7 in the state, Karlee Bickford broke a 5-5 tie with an RBI single in the sixth inning.

Adrianna Correa homered for COC in the sixth inning to extend the lead.

COC is 16-13 overall.

In soccer, the Santa Clarita Storm lost their home opener, 4-2, to FC Force.

In high school baseball, Valencia lost to JSerra, 6-0, in the Boras Classic Tournament.

In auto racing, Jeremy Doss won the Spears SRL Southwest Tour race at Kern County Raceway in Bakersfield on Saturday night.

Acton’s Bill Sedgwick won the SRL S2 Tour Series race. Eric Olson won the INEX Legends race. Tyler Bannister won the Bandoleros race.

Los Angeles Sports Report

In the NBA, the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Los Angeles Lakers, 120-97, and took three of four games against their Staples Center roommates this season.

The Lakers play the Rockets on Tuesday. The Clippers take on the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.

In the major leagues, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants, 6-2, and took the final game of the weekend series against their Northern California rivals.

Matt Kemp and Hanley Ramirez each hit two home runs for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers play the Detroit Tigers at the Ravine on Tuesday night.
