He tees off at 10:05 this morning on the Charles River Country Club Course.

In football, Troy Nolan, who played at College of the Canyons, is back with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Nolan, a four-year veteran cornerback in the NFL, was released by the Buccaneers last week.

But the Bucs re-signed him less than a week after placing him on waivers.

He was drafted by the Houston Texans in 2009 and played for the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins.

In baseball, the Dodgers beat the visiting New York Mets, 4-2. The Dodgers scored three runs in the sixth inning and Nick Punto hit a solo home run in the seventh.

They have a six-game winning streak and are 38-8 since June 22.

Game 2 of the series against the Mets is tonight. Listen to the game on AM 1220, KHTS. First pitch is at 7:10.

About Connie Jones

Connie and her husband, John, moved to the Santa Clarita Valley almost 30 years ago. Living in Santa Clarita for that long is the direct opposite of Connie’s childhood. She was an Army ‘brat’ who moved every two to three years. Consequently, she has lived in many states and even spent three years in Europe. All three of her kids went to Santa Clarita schools. Connie says the best thing about her job at KHTS is that she is never bored. “If I’m not smiling, Carl is sure to ask why, just before giving me a mind-boggling project.” “KHTS AM-1220 is an integral part of our community and I’m glad to be a part of it. Besides, the DJs will take my request to play Shania Twain’s ‘Still the One’ for my wedding anniversary – gotta love that!”
