Valencia won the first game, 8-0, with Enriquez keeping Camarillo in check. Madison Shipman and Caitlin Rooney homered for Valencia. Megan Fogelsong and Shannon Fitzgerald had doubles.

Mortensen won the second game, 5-0. Shipman hit another home run and drove in two runs in the second game.

Six Clippers scored in double figures. Drew Gooden put up a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The Clippers will have a few days to savor this victory. They don’t play again until Sunday against the Sacramento Kings. Maybe they can make it two wins in a row.

In hockey, the Kings are home against the Chicago Blackhawks tonight. The Blackhawks are mired in a three-game losing streak, most recently a 4-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks last night.

The Kings are coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to the Nashville Predators on Sunday. Pregame starts at 7 on AM 1220, KHTS.

About Connie Jones

Connie and her husband, John, moved to the Santa Clarita Valley almost 30 years ago. Living in Santa Clarita for that long is the direct opposite of Connie’s childhood. She was an Army ‘brat’ who moved every two to three years. Consequently, she has lived in many states and even spent three years in Europe. All three of her kids went to Santa Clarita schools. Connie says the best thing about her job at KHTS is that she is never bored. “If I’m not smiling, Carl is sure to ask why, just before giving me a mind-boggling project.” “KHTS AM-1220 is an integral part of our community and I’m glad to be a part of it. Besides, the DJs will take my request to play Shania Twain’s ‘Still the One’ for my wedding anniversary – gotta love that!”
