Valencia’s Alison Lee Wins Another Golf Tournament

sportslocalValencia golfer Alison Lee won the Valencia Country Club Invitational with a 2-over par, 74, her second individual championship in as many weeks.

She also won the Newhall Land Cup last week at Valencia Country Club.

But Lee, the seventh-ranked golfer by the American Junior Golf Association, told The Signal that she will not participate in CIF postseason individual matches. She qualified for the CIF postseason by winning the Newhall Land Cup.

She will, however, participate in the team portions of the CIF postseason. Valencia qualified as a team for CIF postseason play by finishing third in Foothill League.

In college soccer, The Master’s College, the 14th-ranked team in the NAIA, beat Westmont, 2-1. Marcelo Silva scored the deciding goal in the second half. Jacob Marchesani scored the first goal for The Master’s College in the sixth minute. It was the second win in a row for The Master’s College.

About Connie Jones

Connie and her husband, John, moved to the Santa Clarita Valley almost 30 years ago. Living in Santa Clarita for that long is the direct opposite of Connie’s childhood. She was an Army ‘brat’ who moved every two to three years. Consequently, she has lived in many states and even spent three years in Europe. All three of her kids went to Santa Clarita schools. Connie says the best thing about her job at KHTS is that she is never bored. “If I’m not smiling, Carl is sure to ask why, just before giving me a mind-boggling project.” “KHTS AM-1220 is an integral part of our community and I’m glad to be a part of it. Besides, the DJs will take my request to play Shania Twain’s ‘Still the One’ for my wedding anniversary – gotta love that!”
