VIDEO: Canyon Boys Basketball Team Loses To Canyon Of Anaheim In CIF Playoffs

The Canyon of Anaheim boys basketball team beat Canyon of Canyon Country, 65-59, in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 2AA playoffs on Friday night.

Canyon of Anaheim’s Chris Anderson scored 17 points and had nine assists.

Canyon of Canyon Country’s Coley Apsay scored a game-high 23 points.

Canyon Country had a two-point lead at halftime, 32-30. Canyon of Anaheim built a 10-point lead in the third quarter and led 52-42.

Canyon of Canyon Country went on a 12-2 run to start the fourth quarter and tied the game, 54-54, with 4:30 to play.

Canyon of Anaheim won the game on free throws in the final minutes. The Comanches from Anaheim play Summit in the quarterfinals on Tuesday night.

In other second round boys basketball playoff games, Valencia beat Murrieta Valley, 77-70, in the Division 1AA playoffs.

Trinity Classical Academy beat the Academy of Careers and Exploration, 56-45, in the Division 6A playoffs.

The Santa Clarita Christian boys lost to Wildwood, 53-48, in the Division 6AA playoffs.
