West Ranch Baseball Team Back To Its Winning Ways

sportswestranchThe West Ranch baseball team ended its little two-game slide with a 10-5 win over Birmingham in the Valley Invitational Baseball League on Wednesday.

JC Cloney provided the punch with a home run, two doubles and four RBIs for West Ranch. Jared Ortiz had three hits and Cody Howard hits his fifth home run of the summer baseball league.

In other games, Valencia shut out Burroughs, 12-0, Alemany doubled up on Canyon, 6-3, and Hart beat Saugus, 5-3.

In college football, Marquis Jackson, a standout defensive end for the College of the Canyons, committed to UCLA on Wednesday, according to a report in the Daily News. He is expected to start his NCAA football career in 2010.
