West Ranch Baseball Team Earns Bye In First Round Of Playoffs

sportswestranchThe West Ranch baseball team has the best record in the Valley Invitational Baseball League and earned the only bye in the playoffs.

J.C. Cloney hit two home runs and got the save in a 7-6 win over Alemany on Monday, the final regular season game of the summer baseball league.

In other games, Hart beat Camarillo 13-10 and Crespi beat Saugus, 8-3.

West Ranch finished with a 16-2 record and will play the winner of the St. Francis-Camarillo game on Saturday.

The first round of the playoffs begins Thursday. Valencia hosts Simi Valley; Saugus is at Granada Hills; Golden Valley is at Chatsworth; Kennedy plays at Hart; and Canyon is at Alemany. All games are scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
