West Ranch Baseball Team Improves To 11-0

sportswestranchThe West Ranch baseball team puts its perfect 10-0 record in the Valley Invitational Baseball League to the test against Burroughs on Wednesday.

It was not much of a test as West Ranch won, 18-2, and improved to 11-0 in the summer baseball league.

Josh Heinz had three doubles and drove in four runs. Jared Ortiz had four hits and three RBIs.

In other games, Valencia beat Sylmar, 11-5, Golden Valley lost to Cleveland, 9-6, and Taft beat Saugus, 8-7.

In high school football, Hart and Valencia each reached the semifinals of the College of the Canyons-Hart 7 on 7 Passing Tournament, but neither team played for the championship. Alemany won the summer passing tournament downing Westlake, 8-6, in the championship game.

Westlake beat Hart in their semifinal game, 26-24. Alemany beat Valencia, 24-14, in the other semifinal.
