West Ranch Baseball Teams Squeaks Out Another Win

sportswestranchWest Ranch won again in the Valley Invitational Baseball League. Their latest victim: Calabasas. Cody Howard and Ryan Keller combined on the mound for a 3-2 win. Howard got the win, Keller got the save and West Ranch improved to 13-0.

In other games, Valencia beat Golden Valley, 9-1, Canyon beat Royal, 5-4 and Saugus beat St. Bonaventure, 6-4.

In junior golf, Max Homa shot a 1-under 71 in the second round of the American Junior Golf Association West Junior Open at Robinson Ranch. The recent Valencia High graduate is six shots off the lead. Jeffrey Kang, who shot a 3-under 69, is the leader after two rounds.

West Ranch’s J.J. Holen shot an 83 in the second round and is 9-over par for the tournament. Clayton Thatch, another player from West Ranch, shot a 76 in the second round and is 11-over par after two rounds.

Anne Cheng leads the girls side. A pair of golfers from Hart are in the tournament. Amanda Corr shot an 84 in the second round and is 24 shots behind Cheng. Kendall Dusenberry shot a 97 in the second round.

The tournament concludes today at Robinson Ranch.
