West Ranch Drops Two In A Row In Valley Invitational Baseball League

khts_sportsIt has not been a good week for West Ranch in the Valley Invitational Baseball League.

West Ranch lost its first two games of the summer league, including a 10-9 setback to Hart on Wednesday.

JD Krauskopf had three hits and drove in two runs for West Ranch. Hart won only its second game in the Valley Invitational Baseball League.

In other games, Valencia beat Woodland Hills West, 4-3, and Golden Valley lost to Simi Valley, 9-0.

The Dodgers couldn’t complete the sweep and lost to the Tigers, 7-5. The Tigers hit four home runs and chased Dodger starter Ted Lilly in the fifth inning.

The Dodgers have the day off today and will try to rebound against the Angels on Friday night.

In other games, the Padres beat the Red Sox, 5-1, the Rockies lost to the Indians, 4-3, the Diamondbacks beat the Royals, 3-2, and the Giants beat the Twins, 5-1.

The Angels needed extra innings to beat the Marlins, 6-5, and might have lost Torii Hunter who crashed into the outfield wall and hurt his ribs.

Mark Trumbo knocked in the game-winning run with a single in the top of the 10th and Hunter added an RBI double before injuring himself.

The Rangers lost to the Astros, 5-3, the Mets beat the A’s 3-2 in 13 innings, and the Nationals beat the Mariners, 2-1.

The Yankees split a doubleheader with the Reds, winning the first game, 4-2, and losing the nightcap, 10-2. The Pirates beat the Orioles, 5-4, the Braves beat the Blue Jays, 5-1, the Rays beat the Brewers, 6-3, the White Sox beat the Cubs, 4-3 and the Phillies shut out the Cardinals, 4-0.
