The West Ranch girls golf team won the first Foothill League match of the season and snapped Hart’s four-year winning streak in league matches.
West Ranch won its first league match in school history shooting a 223 as a team. Valencia was second at 238.
West Ranch’s Julie Ward and Hart’s Kendell Dusenberry shot the low rounds of the match, 1-over par 38s at the Woodley Lakes Golf Course in Van Nuys.
The Hart girls volleyball team beat visiting Camarillo in five games, winning the fifth game, 15-9.
Brittani Elser led Hart with 14 kills and Cassidy Fitzpatrick had 37 digs and four aces.
Hart lost the first game of the match, but won the next two before Camarillo came back to win game 4.
It was the fourth win of the season for Hart.
The Saugus girls volleyball team beat Chaminade in four games. Jaclyn Clark led Saugus with 18 kills, 15 digs and four blocks.
The Valencia girls volleyball team beat Oxnard in four games. Sierra Sanchez had nine kills, 14 digs and five blocks to lead Valencia.
In college soccer, The Master’s College men’s team beat Bethseda Christian, 3-1, to stay undefeated.
Marcelo Silva recorded three assists and The Master’s College scored three times in the second half.
The Mustangs are 7-0 to start the season.
The College of the Canyons women’s soccer team lost to Chaffey College, 2-1. Elvia Contreras scored the lone goal for COC.
In baseball, the Angels clobbered the Blue Jays, 10-6, but the Rangers also won to maintain their lead in the American League West standings.
The Rangers beat the A’s, 7-2, and have a five-game lead in the AL West.
