The West Ranch girls tennis team beat Sage Hill to remain undefeated and avenge a loss in last year’s CIF playoffs.
West Ranch won on games, 78-69, after the two teams played to a 9-9 tie in sets.
Ana Cecilia Fuentes swept her singles matches for West Ranch. Sage Hill beat West Ranch in the semifinals of the Southern Section Division III playoffs last year.
In high school volleyball, the Saugus girls swept Highland in three games. Jaclyn Clark and Ashley Pagan each had nine kills to lead Saugus.

In high school football, five teams from the Foothill League are ranked in the top 10 of the CIF Southern Section Northern Division poll.
Canyon is ranked No. 3 after a dominating, 56-7, win over Knight.
West Ranch won its third game of the season and moved up to No. 7. Valencia is No. 8 after a tough loss to Chaminade.
Hart is No. 9 after beating Burroughs. Saugus moved into the No. 10 spot after narrowly beating Buena, 34-32.
The College of the Canyons men’s soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Santa Ana College. Abel Hinojosa scored the lone goal for COC.
The College of the Canyons women’s soccer team tied Moorpark College, 1-1, and remained unbeaten. The COC women are 4-0-1 after five games.
In college cross country, Christie Edwards led the College of the Canyons women’s team to a third-place finish at the Cuesta College Invitational. The COC men finished sixth in the Cuesta Invitational and were led by Alex Ruther.
In baseball, the Angels lost to the Blue Jays, 3-2 in 10 innings, and fell five games behind the first-place Rangers in the American League West standings.
