West Ranch Improves To 9-0 In Valley Invitational Baseball League

The West Ranch baseball team is the only undefeated team left in the Valley Invitational Baseball League.

West Ranch needed a six-run seventh inning to beat Hart, 9-6, on Friday. Matt Blake hit a two-run home run and Jared Ortiz, Josh Heinz and Randy Poe each had RBI singles in the seventh. With the win, West Ranch improved to 9-0 in the summer baseball league.

In other games on Friday, Crespi beat Canyon, 9-5, El Camino Real beat Golden Valley, 12-1 and Taft beat Valencia, 4-3.

Valencia bounced back on Saturday with a 6-3 win over Cleveland. Hart lost to Alemany, 3-1

Valencia is the only team from the Santa Clarita Valley in action today in the summer baseball league. They host Thousand Oaks at 5.

After winning their first soccer game of the season, the Premier Soccer Santa Clarita Valley Rooks lost to the San Diego SeaLions, 4-0, at Canyon High School on Sunday.

The Rooks were coming off a 1-0 win over the Claremont Stars on Saturday.
