After conducting an investigation for nearly a month, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau detectives arrested a 4th grade teacher at Castaic Elementary School for suspected child molestation, officials said Thursday.

Here are the crime reports for Canyon Country East, Canyon Country West, Newhall, Saugus, Stevenson Ranch and Valencia.

 Canyon Country East

Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives are investigating a shooting which occurred near the 27500 block of Sierra Hwy., Canyon Country. A male victim succumbed to his injuries and the female victim was treated for her injuries at a local hospital.

A grand theft occurred near the 16600 block of Lost Canyon Rd., Canyon Country.  Suspect(s) unknown stole two catalytic converters from the victim’s vehicle. This incident is currently being investigated by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station detectives.

A petty theft occurred near the 26900 block of Sierra Hwy., Canyon Country. An unknown male adult suspect placed numerous grocery items in his shopping cart and exited the location without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise. This incident is currently being investigated by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station detectives.

A grand theft occurred near the 15800 block of Beaver Run Rd., Canyon Country. The victim discovered that her jewelry had been stolen from her jewelry box. The victim believes that hired help may have been stealing from her while doing work at her residence last year. This incident is currently being investigated by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station detectives.

Canyon Country West

An assault with a deadly weapon occurred near the 14 freeway and Golden Valley Road.  One suspect was arrested for firing what the victim described as a gunshot at his vehicle striking the rear driver side window causing it to shatter. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies have released the crime reports for the week of May 4-10.An assault with a deadly weapon occurred near the 20800 block of Centre Pointe Parkway.  The victim stated he was attacked by approximately 7 to 8 individuals with hands, feet, and skateboards causing injuries significant enough to be transported to a nearby hospital. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

 A residential burglary occurred near the 19700 block of Koji Court. Person(s) unknown forced entry into the victim’s front door and ransacked the inside.  According to the victim, nothing looked taken at the time of the report. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A shoplifting occurred near the 20600 block of Golden Triangle Road. One suspect was arrested for taking store items and attempting to leave the location without paying. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

Newhall

On Sunday the 10th at 10:33 p.m., a victim was robbed at gunpoint in the 24100 block of Lyons Avenue. The suspect was armed with a handgun and fled on foot.

On Tuesday the 5th, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., a residential burglary occurred in the 24700 block of Spruce Street. The suspect entered the residence through a rear window and took electronics and jewelry.

Four adults and one juvenile were arrested in the Newhall area last week. Two for trespassing, one for narcotics, one for criminal threats, and one for vandalism.

Saugus

A residential burglary occurred near the 20600 block of Sue Drive. An unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked garage. The suspect ransacked the victim’s home and stole jewelry.

There was a commercial burglary reported from a business near the 28200 block of Bouquet Canyon Road. The suspect shattered the front glass door to the location. The suspect stole a safe containing $900 in US currency.

A Vehicle burglary was reported near the 21900 block of Lynette Lane. There was no sign of forced entry to the victim’s vehicle. The suspect stole a brown purse containing the victims CDL and a “Tiffany” necklace.Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies have released the crime reports for the week of May 4-10.

There was a vehicle burglary reported from the 26900 block of Avenita Terraza. The suspect shattered the victim’s front passenger window to gain entry to the vehicle.  The suspect stole a pair of blue “Beats” headphones.

A petty theft was reported from the shopping center near the 23850 block of Copperhill Drive.  The suspect entered the store selected 6 containers of “Tide” detergent and attempted to leave the location without paying for the items. He was detained by loss prevention and later arrested by deputies.

Stevenson Ranch

Vehicle Burglary

A vehicle burglary occurred on the 27200 block of Tourney Rd. An unknown person(s) entered the victim’s vehicle and took a C.B. radio.

Grand Theft (Auto)

A vehicle was stolen from the 25300 block of Chase St. An unknown person(s) stole the victim’s vehicle which was parked in front of her home.

Valencia

An assault with a deadly weapon occurred near the intersection of Newhall Ranch Road and the northbound interstate 5 Exit. A female pulled up next to the victim and pointed a handgun at him and asked him if he likes cutting cars off. The suspect also showed the victim a badge resembling an oval shape.  The suspect left the area in a BMW with paper plates.

We had 8 incidents involving shoplifting occur over the past week at our local businesses. A total of five suspects were arrested out of the 8 incidents.

A petty theft occurred near the 27080 block of McBean Parkway. A store employee was arrested from the location for stealing items from her employer. The employee admitted to stealing from the company for the past year and a half.

A trailer theft occurred near the 25000 block of Avenue Stanford. The victim had his 1996 Trailer stolen from the location overnight.

A vehicle burglary occurred near the intersection of Sunset Hills and McBean Parkway. An unknown suspect smashed the victim’s window to his vehicle and stole his wallet from his vehicle.
