Sarah Alarid’s Memorial Attended By Hundreds

UPDATED 4:45 p.m.

Hundreds attended Sarah Alarid’s memorial service, held at Real Life Church on Saturday, January 19.

Sarah was remembered through songs, a photo montage and inspiring testimonies from friends and family, according to KHTS’ host Alex Urbina.

Community support for the Alarid family has continued to be strong since Sarah was found in Angeles National Forest on January 9.

A benefit concert organized by the friends of Sarah Alarid will be held Saturday, Jan. 19 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 15408 Sierra Hwy in Canyon Country to continue raising funds for Alarid’s memorial service.

Alarid’s memorial service will also be held Jan. 19 at Real life Church in Valencia from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“So much money was spent searching for Sarah, the benefit show is just another way of celebrating her life and to continue taking donations for the service she deserves,” said Nicki Powell, an Alarid family friend.

Eight of Alarid’s favorite local punk rock bands, bands that Sarah would go out and see, as well as bands from the Greater Los Angeles area have donated time for the event, said Powell.

“We are working on getting projectors for a slideshow, a food and water set up, donations of food and water are also being taken,” added Powell.

Suggested entry donation to the event is $5.
