For the fifth time in six months, a school district denied the Albert Einstein Academy for Letters, Arts and Sciences its elementary school charter.
On Tuesday night, the Saugus Union School District Board of Trustees voted 5-0 against the academy.

The academy, which currently operates a junior high and high school within the Wm. S. Hart Union School District, had petitioned its elementary charter to the Saugus District last month.
Before the vote, Einstein Academy Principal Edward Gika and charter secretary Judith Stolnitz spoke in favor of the school, citing its diverse its diverse language programs.
Since October, the Los Angeles Unified, Ventura Unified, Newhall, Hart Union and now Saugus Union school districts have rejected the school.
