"Alice" will
serve to entertain and to reach out to the community.
School's Theater Department is presenting a new
take on an old classic with their musical, "Alice:
Tales of a Curious Girl" based on Lewis Carroll's Alice
in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.
"Alice"
takes to the stage before audiences at 7 p.m.
on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, January 28, 29 and 30.
Saugus is the
first high school in the country to perform this witty and sophisticated new
script that appeals to all ages. Fans of the Alice
books will find literary jokes and sly references to growing girls.
The play also takes aim at pleasing the kids with a
fast-paced parade of bizarre creatures, including the Queen of Hearts, the Jabberwock,
the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter and the March Hare.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children.
Saugus Theater is also offering a limited number of seats to
senior citizens through the SCV Senior
Center as part of its community
outreach program, and they will be performing four free shows to local
elementary schools.
