Pasadena Police Department tracks suspect to home in Santa Clarita.
[view:node_ad=5]Jason Renaux, a 29-year-old Saugus resident has been arrested after Pasadena police named him a suspect in two sexual assaults over the last two months.According to Detective Lt. John Dewar of the Pasadena Police Department, officers responded to a call of a woman screaming in a section of east Pasadena Saturday night. When they arrived on scene, they found the woman running down the street. After stopping her, she explained that she had been sexually assaulted by a man with a box cutter.
She was able to give officers a description of the man’s car, and his license plate number. The license plate was registered to Renaux’s Saugus address, and Pasadena Detectives quickly swooped in with the help of Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Deputies and arrested him Sunday.
Lt. Dewar told KHTS that the victim identified Renaux in a photo lineup.
The investigation took a startling turn however, as the victim also reported knowledge of another victim who had been assaulted in the same manner, and in the same area of east Pasadena.
Upon investigation, detectives were able to locate the second victim, who had not originally reported the incident. She described the November attack and picked Renaux’s photo out of a lineup.
This turn of events has detectives looking into the possibility of more un-reported attacks in the Pasadena area, and they are urging anyone with information to contact them at (626) 744-4501.
It is not yet known why Renaux was allegedly in the Pasadena area, since he lives in Saugus.
“That’s certainly one of our questions,” Dewar said.
