Rose Koscielny, who was named president, is ready to serve her 20th year on the board, she said.

“Our priority continues to be education in a safe environment,” Koscielny said. “We want to offer our students the best advantages we can.”

This is Koscielny’s fifth time serving as president, but the $148 million bond the union recently received, makes for an exciting future.

“This coming up year, we’re going to focus on getting together the oversight committee,” said Koscielny.

Governing Board member Judy Umeck said Thursday she was excited for her 19th year on the board.

“We’re going to focus on continuing to communicate common core to parents, and supporting our teachers and administrators,” said Umeck.

Umeck expressed her gratitude for the communities help getting the bond.

“We’re also just all so thrilled to have a board of five again,” Umeck said.
