Several school bus drivers and their coworkers are making a difference for children they see everyday.
Four families in need are receiving some Christmas cheer this afternoon from Forsythe Transportation. The drivers, mechanics, and staff members of Forsythe joined with members of the William S. Hart and Newhall School districts to put together food baskets and gifts for the families.

“We felt that we wanted to follow the true meaning of Christmas: giving instead of getting,” said Jane Wickstrom, General Manager of Forsythe Transportation.
The families were suggested to Forsythe by the school districts based on their need. The names of the 11 children in the four families were given to the workers at Forsythe who purchased gifts and gave gift certificates.
“Once they’re on the school bus, we care for them as if they were our own children,” Wickstrom added, saying that it was important to the school bus drivers to take care of the children and their families in this way.
