Car burglar caught by deputies on patrol.
Deputies arrested a Sylmar man on burglary charges early Wednesday morning. Deputies patrolling a Newhall neighborhood, near 6th Street and Pine Street, in the early morning hours spotted a man walking between cars and looking into car windows. As they approached, the man threw a screwdriver.
The deputies detained him and conducted further investigation. The deputies report that they recovered a car stereo, amplifiers, speaker boxes, and other items in the grass near the sidewalk where the suspect was standing. The suspect reportedly led the deputies to two vehicles parked in a nearby parking garage. The deputies found both vehicles had been broken into and the items they had recovered were apparently stolen from those vehicles.
The suspect, Angel Brianos, 25, of Sylmar, was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on suspicion of felony burglary and suspicion of possession of burglary tools, which is a misdemeanor. He is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail pending future court proceedings.
