SCV Chamber To Host Mixer At TPC Valencia

For a networking opportunity that mixes business and pleasure, look no further than the 29th annual Oak Tree Golf Classic on April 22.

Winners will receive trophies, but the real benefit to attending is the networking opportunity, said Chris Donald, events director for the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce.

“A lot of business that attend look to connect with businesses they don’t have contact with, it’s a very very popular networking event,” Donald said.

Held at The Tournament Players Club, TPC Valencia, many sponsors will bring treats for players, including BMW, Kia of Valencia and Nissan, who will all have a car on display for a chance to win, Donald said.

“(Some) sponsors bring a pop-up tent, barbecues or whatever they want, and set up next to a hole so they can network with the businesses and sponsors that go by,” Donald said.

In addition to golf and networking, other activities will be available, Donald said.

“There are some raffles and a silent auction, but it’s more about having a good day on the course and a nice dinner at the end to thank everyone for coming,” Donald said.

About half the golf spots available are booked, but the chamber is still looking for three more sponsors, including a dinner sponsor.

Proceeds will go to the SCV Chamber of Commerce, and the event will take place 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
