IMG_3619_copyThe SCV Education Foundation will hold its 28th annual Teacher Tribute ceremony at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center on Thursday, April 19, honoring 53 local educators, one from each school in the Castaic, Newhall, Saugus Union, Sulphur Springs, and William S. Hart Union school districts.

According to scveducationfoundation.org, there are nearly 2400 educators in the Santa Clarita Valley. The Foundation also said that “Recognizing excellence in education is the focus of Teacher Tribute. With more than 1,490 teachers honored thus far, the event allows businesses and individuals to recognize the outstanding teachers who educate our youth—the leaders of tomorrow.”

In previous years, the Teacher Tribute program has included speeches by honorees and performances by local elementary and high school students, including Hart High School’s Sound Vibes show choir. Scholarships are also awarded to graduating high school seniors interested in pursuing a degree in education.

Sponsors for this year’s honorees include the City of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Valley Teacher Association, among others. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or attending the event, click here for printable forms and a list of honorees.
