Santa Clarita Hiker Airlifted After Medical Emergency

A Santa Clarita hiker was airlifted after suffering a medical emergency in Towsley Canyon Park on Sunday, officials said.

Around 11 a.m. Sunday, emergency responders received reports of a medical emergency on The Old Road and Towsley Canyon Road at Towsley Canyon Park in Newhall, according to Melanie Flores with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

“The hiker reported a medical issue,” Flores said.

Copter 15 with the L.A. County Fire Department as well as search and rescue teams were deployed to rescue the injured hiker, according to Flores.

The helicopter located the hiker within the hour and transported him to Towsley Canyon’s entrance.
