Over a dozen different treatment and recovery providers had representatives at The Way Out Recovery in Saugus on Thursday to discuss their backgrounds and treatment methods.

Questions surrounding insurance and financing were popular, but the one sentiment everyone in the room could get behind was working together to get patients in the right treatment.

“We can work together, we can refer together, and I think it is a really big jumping off place for use as providers,” said Bob Sharits, program director at The Way Out Recovery.

From eating disorders to self-harm to drug abuse, specialists of all kinds were present on Thursday to discuss various treatment methods.

Despite the different approaches and treatment plans expressed, one feeling remained mutual.

“I love what everybody in this room has a common thread with,” said Candye Rucker, a local marriage and family therapist. “(I love) that we are all here to save people that want to be saved.”

From traditional 12-step, faith-based programs to more progressive science-based methods there is a multitude of treatment options available locally to Santa Clarita Valley residents.

Meetings like Thursday’s can help every Santa Clarita resident find the treatment that they need by promoting collaboration between the various local providers Sharits hopes.

“All of us are here for a single purpose,” said Sharits, “to help people get the help that they need.”
