La Verne Earthquake Felt By Santa Clarita Residents

A magnitude 4.4 earthquake occurred near La Verne Tuesday, and was felt almost 60 miles away in Santa Clarita.

The quake occurred at 7:33 p.m. at a depth of 3.7 miles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter was approximately three miles from San Dimas and five miles from Glendora, according to the USGS.

In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby, said USGS officials.

No injuries or structure damage have been reported as of 8 p.m. Tuesday.
