About 20-50 homes have been evacuated near Camp 14 on San Francisquito Canyon Road since the fire broke out, according to officials.
Two hours after the initial call regarding the fire was made, flames spread to approximately 1,000 acres. Helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft and SuperScoopers aided from the air to attack the blaze, as the remote nature of the fire’s location made land-based transportation difficult.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, and remains under investigation, according to the Incident Web Information Management system (InciWeb) provided by the United States Forest Service.
