UPDATE: Dry Fire In Castaic 100% Contained, Burns Two Acres

The Dry Fire has been 100 percent contained after burning through two acres in Castaic Saturday night, according to fire officials.

Original Post: The Dry Fire, originating in Castaic, began several hours after the South Fire in Newhall and consumed up to five acres within 20 minutes, according to officials.

The Dry Fire started off of N. Lake Hughes Road and Dry Gulch Saturday evening, and was confirmed to have taken up to five acres as of 8 p.m., according to officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The fire is slowly moving uphill, and no structures are currently at risk, according to officials.

The fire began less than six hours after the initial outbreak of the South Fire in Newhall, which has consumed 170 acres with 30 percent containment as of Saturday evening, according to LACoFD officials.
