Firefighters stopped a small brush fire in Sand Canyon Sunday afternoon after it consumed around 1.5 acres.

“They stopped forward progression,” said Los Angeles County Fire Supervising Dispatcher Melanie Flores.
The brush fire was first reported shortly after 2 p.m.
Firefighters from the Angeles National Forest helped contain the blaze, according to fire officials.
The blaze, near the 27000 block of Sand Canyon Road, was originally reported as a 1-acre blaze, but did not threaten any structures.
