Firefighters quickly extinguished a 1 acre blaze that burned along the 14 freeway Saturday evening.

The fire was originally reported at 4:50 p.m. according to fire officials, as a small spot fire.
Firefighters responded just south of Agua Dulce Canyon Rd., and discovered the flames eating away at light brush as it made it’s way up a hill.

Air support was initially called to assist the crews, but were called off because first responders on the ground were able to stop the forward progress of the blaze.
