PARADISE FIRE UPDATE: Forward progress was stopped about one hour after the fire started.
The brush fire, named the Paradise Fire, was called in at about 3:10 p.m. Thursday, reaching at least five acres with no structures threatened, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The Paradise Fire has caused the No. 3 and 4 lanes of the I-5 Freeway to be shut down for an unknown duration.
